AACCKKK I am a blog abandoner! I apologize to my faithful readers. Both of you :) I fully intended to update today but I had a minor emergency - my washing machine leaked all over my apartment. Luckily I was home and caught it before it ruined too much. Unluckily my washing machine backs up to my closet, so my closet got flooded. But I am watching Hurricane Ike coverage and feeling very lucky that this is, indeed, a minor emergency**.
I promise promise promise to update my blog next week. I am off to Steve's tonight because we are going to a Redskins game tomorrow***. But lots has been going on as summer came to a close**** and I got my lazy butt back to work, so more fascinating details shortly!

**Although the water leaked out my front door and soaked one of my favorite possessions - my "Bienvenue" welcome mat with a picture of the Eiffel Tower. I am afraid it shall be mold-caked forever and I will have to throw it out :(
